The Art of Pigment Hunting : HWY 101The Art of Pigment Hunting : HWY 101 will be a road trip to organize future pigment hunting and natural paint making workshops, create community murals, and to promote the upcoming book that I will be available in the Spring of 2020.
The HWY 101 road trip will also occur during the spring with the dates still to be decided upon, but they will most likely occur in the month of May and June of 2020. Traveling HWY 101 and the Art of Pigment Hunting will be an introductory into the colors that exist along the coastal shore lines and mountains from Neah Bay, Washington to San Diego California is around 1650 miles in length. This is just the distance based on the HWY with no detours in the vehicle to nearby destinations for exploring the landscape on foot or water. The plan is to start in San Diego, CA where the journey will begin to visit various cities and communities along the way to Neah Bay in Washington while exploring the landscape in search of color. Pigment Hunter will coordinate future workshops with interested communities who want to host a workshop or create a community mural with local earth pigments collected during the pigment hunting exploration on HWY 101. If your interested in having Pigment Hunter stop at a community near HWY 101 please let me know, side detours off the main route are more than welcome!! Some of the cities that Ill be passing by that are not directly on HWY 101 can also be potential places to hold workshops or create custom murals with the community of artists. A few cities off of the main route of HWY 101 such as Seattle, Portland, Salem, Corvallis, Eugene, Ashland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Diego would be places to connect with a larger audience and community of artists. |
